Podcast Script
Script: Podcast
(Guitar sound)
FM: Welcome to WART Radio station. I'm FM Morales and with me, THE JO C MASTER.
(Artificial Clapping)
JRL: During this week, we have been on the lookout for indie songs that are quite obscure in the music industry. I have taken a liking to the band, Tame Impala, with their hit "Solitude is Bliss".
FM: That's a very good band. Tame Impala. My musical voyage has taken me to the music industry of indie-folk. I was in an endeavour to find one, until I grabbed hold to the Fleet Foxes. The song the I will be reviewing today will be "English House".
JRL: The first song that we are going to discuss will be Solitude is Bliss. For me, this song is definitely in one of my top 10 indie songs.
FM: I would have to disagree there.
JRL: No. Listen to me. It has an evocative meaning and its psychedelic instruments are surprisingly well put together. All I know is that they are a small band from Australia that...
(Partner's Part)
(A part of "Solitude is Bliss" is played)
FM: That was a part of solitude is bliss by Tame Impala.
FM: Now we go from psychedelic freakness to back to the folk. The fleet foxes are an upcoming great band and soon to hit the top of the indie charts. This band are not your typical band "We are all in for the money". This band are known for "bringing back the chair" this means that they prefer to sit down and perform beautiful music rather than standing up and playing horrible music. This band write songs about folk legends, tales and their personal life stories. The following song is about a tale from Lushootseed, a small place near their hometown. It is about a lonesome lady that got lost in her immense mansion and never found her way out. With you, "English House".
(The song fades in, in 0:40 and fades out in 1:25)
Intro Voice: The battle of the giants will be between Solitude is Bliss and English House. Let the DISCUSSION begin.
Order of discussion:
1) Musical Aspects2) Meaning of the Song3) The song's literary aspects

Members:
- Robin Pecknold—lead vocals, guitar
- Skyler Skjelset—lead guitar, mandolin
- Christian Wargo—bass guitar, vocals
- Casey Wescott—keyboards, mandolin, vocals
- Morgan Henderson—multi-instrumentalist, arrangements
The Song "English House":
The song commences with a capo'd guitar and with some backup vocals and explodes with the entire band in 15 seconds inside the song. In the song there are mandolins, what seems to be a timpani, several guitars and strong back-up vocals. The song does include a nice folky-like effect and is relaxing and easy to listen to. The musical part is very easy to listen too. The story that this song tries to tell is an old tale of their hometown of Lushootseed. This story is about a lady louse that was often in quite solitude with herself in an immense house in which she got trapped in and died. Of course, the song does not complete revolve around this tale and it is constantly referring to other hidden aspects as well.

Sound Opinions Podcast: Tame Impala's Lonerism
What album did you listen to? Why?
When I was first entered this website, I was amazed by the coincidence that just the day that my brother wanted me to listen Tame Impala, I found a review of them in Sound Opinions. Since my brother, Aldo, insisted me to listen to this band, I decided to listen to Lonerism by Tame Impala.
Was the podcast entertaining? Why or why not?
It was definitely entertaining since I enjoyed the songs and I admired how they applied some jokes to keep up the amusing tone to the podcast. I also enjoyed the amount of analysis they put into the album and how big the amount of musical knowledge they had.
Did you agree with their opinions? Why or why not?

Did you agree with their opinions? Why or why not?
I did after I heard the whole album but when they only showed those 2 songs I disagreed with their opinions. I thought that the lead vocals were too psychedelic and due to this, the lyrics could not be heard and the music couldn't really be appreciated.
What did they do in the podcast that was effective or that you liked?
I admired the way that they communicated and they had divided everything in equal portions. The podcast was effective since the way that they organized the podcast let the audience listen to a part then listen to their opinions then listen to a full song to listen to the overall thoughts.
How did the podcast begin and end?
The podcast began with a small sample of a song and it ended with the final opinions of Greg and Jim.

Why is it terrible?
This song is terrible since there is no talent at all. The singing is basically a high-pitched voice that seems to drill inside your brain. The song is repetitive and is based on barbie dolls which just makes the situation even worse. The lyrics are of no sense whatsoever but it is supposably the life of a barbie doll. Nothing in these lyrics have any intelligence and should be ashamed of actually being there. The lyrics have no powerful words or words of wisdom. The lyrics don't even attempt to inspire people in any point of view whatsoever. This song was made to be a joke. Not even the worst artists would accept this music. The lyrics have no imagery (that I could find) and has diction that is unimaginably awful.
Terrible Song: Barbie Girl- Aqua
"Barbie Girl"
Hi Barbie
Hi Ken!
Do you wanna go for a ride?
Sure Ken!
Jump In...
I'm a barbie girl, in the barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
you can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let's go party!
I'm a barbie girl, in the barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
you can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
I'm a blond bimbo girl, in the fantasy world
Dress me up, make it tight, I'm your dolly
You're my doll, rock'n'roll, feel the glamour in pink,
kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky...
You can touch, you can play, if you say: "I'm always yours"
(uu-oooh-u)

Discovered Song: Coffee and TV-Blur
"Coffee & TV"
Do you feel like a chain store?
Practically floored
One of many zeros
Kicked around bored
Your ears are full but your empty
Holding out your heart
To people who never really
Care how you are
So give me Coffee and TV
History
I've seen so much
I'm goin blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
Do you go to the country
It isn't very far
There's people there who will hurt you
Cos of who you are
Your ears are full of the language
There's wisdom there you're sure
'Til the words start slurring
And you can't find the door
So give me Coffee and TV
History
I've seen so much
I'm goin blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world

Subterranean Homesick Alien lyrical review
"Subterranean Homesick
Alien"
By: Radiohead
The breath of the morning
I keep forgetting
The smell of the warm summer air
I live in a town
Where you can't smell a thing
You watch your feet
For cracks in the pavement
Up above
Aliens hover
Making home movies
For the folks back home
Of all these weird creatures
Who lock up their spirits
Drill holes in themselves
And live for their secrets
They're all uptight
Uptight.. [x7]
I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane
Late at night when I'm driving
Take me on board their beautiful ship
Show me the world as I'd love to see it
I'd tell all my friends
But they'd never believe
They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely
I'd show them the stars
And the meaning of life
They'd shut me away
But I'd be all right
All right..
I'm just uptight
Uptight.. [x7]
I keep forgetting
The smell of the warm summer air
I live in a town
Where you can't smell a thing
You watch your feet
For cracks in the pavement

This song,
like the whole Radiohead album (OK Computer), it is about being isolated or
alienated from the rest of the population. This song shows how someone is
troubled since they are not related to the population and due to this, the
person talks about how he wishes to be captured by aliens. These constant
reflections on aliens, and the title of the song, refer to how an alien, or
alienated person, is homesick to a place that he does not identify. Apparently,
this person is disheartened and feels the need to find its inner him. When
looking for his real identity he stumbles in to his friends who laugh at his
problems and are not supportive. This song resembles the thought that there is always
one that never belongs or fits. A fun fact is that this goes back to a young
Thom Yorke who was often excluded from others and wrote his first essay about
how everyone was an alien from another planet.
The aspect
that I most admire from this song is that is written by Thom Yorke, who is a
lyrical genius. These lyrics, when listened with the actual music, are soothing
and include poetic words that are very thoughtful and deep. Although most of
these words don’t rhyme, there is this aspect that make them fit. I believe
that this aspect is that Thom Yorke is actually telling a tale/story instead of
singing about it. The lyrics are rich and strong, which provides the audience
with a clear view on what Yorke is actually singing instead of “following
along” with the music.
